One Direction Confirm 3D Movie On Today Show
The boys also performed on the hit NBC morning series...
One Direction are set to follow in the footsteps of Justin Bieber and Katy Perry by starring in their own 3D movie.
The lads confirmed the news during an appearance on NBC's Today Show, with the flick expected to debut in August 2013, as well as starring in what Matt Lauer has branded Today's "biggest concert ever."
Today weatherman Al Roker also stated live on air that 1D's performance at the Rockefeller Plaza, New York in front of thousands of fans was a historical moment for the series.
He claimed: "We have never, ever had a crowd this big. This one breaks all the records."
Speaking of the 15,000 stong crowd, Harry said: "I think for us it's unbelievable to see the fans support.
"I think in spite of everything that happened, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that's been affected by Hurricane Sandy and to see everyone come out still when everything's happened is absolutely amazing. It means so much to us."
The show's hosts also branded their appearance on the series as "The British Invasion" - performing in front of red telephone boxes, which are heavily associated with the UK.
Their three-song set included hit single What Makes You Beautiful, with The X Factor boyband also recording further songs which will air on Today on Wednesday (14th November).
In other 1D news, the Little Things group have apparently been asked by US Presiden tBarack Obama to play a gig at the White House.
A source 'close' to Harry Styles and Co told The Daily Star that First Lady Michelle Obamapersonally got in touch with the boys, stating: "It's an open invitation for a date to be arranged that fits in with everyone's busy schedules.
