Zendaya could be going “under the sea.” The Hashtag Show says that Disney has offered the former Disney Channel star and signer the main role of Ariel in the live-action remake.
Zendaya and Disney refused to comment on the news. It would be cool if Zendaya did put on the fins since the Hashtag Show is reporting that it would likely mean that the role of King Triton and Ariel’s sisters would go to actors of color, making the remake much more diverse than the animated film.
If you loved the original music of the movie (Under the Sea is my jam, tbh) then you’ll be happy to hear that the original songwriter will be back and he’s bringing along Lin-Manuel Miranda to write some new songs.
There’s no time frame for when the film is going to come out, but hopefully, it’ll be soon!
