Ajeenah Amir, a spokeswoman for the city, later clarified that the action will happen on the 1600 block:
The City of Philadelphia will be temporarily closing Walnut Street for a live remote event with the Ellen Show on Wednesday, March 21, between 1-8pm. The event will be concentrated on the 1600 block Walnut St., with closures from Broad to 17th Streets. Numbered streets between Broad and 17th Street will remain open.
GAH! This is so awesome! Ellen tweeted last night that she's going to be in Philly on Wednesday! We have no idea why, BUT my friend Hughe at PhillyChitChat mentioned her shoe line is debuting on QVC (which is in West Chester) so maybe she's giving away free shoes??
